THE LEARNING PATH
Learning is a process whereby the learner is the active constructor of knowledge, not merely a recipient of knowledge as provided by a teacher or a CBL programme for that matter. It is the learner's thinking skills which lead to insight and understanding.
And the learning process is comprised of different events and experiences which can be shown as a path leading to competence.
Ideally, each learning element in the path is connected and compatible, to provide continuity, and to reinforce knowledge and skills retention.
Self-paced learning from CBL's does not provide a "total training solution", but as one of the elements in the learning path, it can make a valuable contribution to the total process.
The CBL's we produce are designed by our own instructors, who have extensive experience in their respective fields of expertise, and have a comprehensive understanding of pedagogics and the learning process.
Everyone is the architect of their own learning.

COMPETENCE MANAGEMENT
Career and competence development is supported by a learning process which meets the individual's personal goals and is aligned with their employer's business objectives. In this respect each company will have needs particular to the ships they operate. Ideally seafarers will follow a learning path that is defined by the knowledge and skills strategically important for their company's success, and one which is an integral part of the company's competence management system.
