The purpose of this interactive learning program is to provide knowledge to those who may be designated to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Ship Security Officer (SSO) as defined in Part A Section 2.1.6 and Section 12 of the ISPS Code, in accordance with IMO Model Course 3.19.

It is intended to support practical training exercises whether conducted in a training facility or on board ship, and is designed so that it can be used by instructors as a teaching/learning aid, or by the individual as a self-paced learning tool.

This versatile learning aid is suitable for multiple users, having a log in facility, progress report, final assessment and administration access. It is network enabled and can be run from the IDESS Distance Learning Manager for ease of recording training sessions and assessment results.

The program provides an average of 3 learning hours.
