Security for Ships
The need for security training for seafarers was established when the ISPS Code entered into force 1st July 2004.
IDESS offers instructor lead Ship Security Officer courses which are accredited by the Panama Maritime Authority and Vanuatu Maritime Services Limited.
We have also developed a CBT (Computer Based Training) covering all the knowledge elements for personnel who are required to undertake the duties and responsibilities of Ship Security Officer, as defined in the ISPS Code.
The need for crews to be better prepared to deal with the threat of piracy has become more critical in recent times, and to this end IDESS is engaged in developing both instructor-led and CBT courses.
Corporate Security
IDESS is currently engaged in developing e-learning modules covering the special needs of corporate executives who are deployed in high-risk environments.
This work is being done in collaboration with security specialists, having special forces background and experience in close protection and maritime security.
