Upon completion of this module, you should be able to:
- Describe the different types of emergency communication equipment found on board ship and in survival craft.
- State the purpose of an EPIRB and where they are located.
- Demonstrate how an EPIRB is activated, and explain the dangers of accidental use.
- Explain the differences between an EPIRB, a SART and a PLB.
- State the purpose of a SART and where they are located.
- Demonstrate how a SART is activated, and explain the dangers of accidental use.
- Demonstrate the correct use of VHF radios.
