The purpose of this interactive learning program is to provide seafarers with access to the knowledge they need as part of required training for Proficiency in Personal Survival Techniques as prescribed in Section A-VI/1-1 of STCW'95 and IMO Model Course 1.19.

It is intended to support practical training exercises whether conducted in a sea survival training facility or on board ship, and is designed so that it can be used by instructors as a teaching/learning aid, or by individual as a self-paced learning tool.

This versatile learning aid is suitable for multiple users, having a log in facility, progress report, final assessment and administration access. It is network enabled and can be run from the IDESS Competence Development Manager for ease of recording training sessions and assessment results.

The program provides an average of 3 learning hours.
