Delay in breathing for more than four minutes can cause death. It is vital to restore the circulation of oxygen- carrying blood to the brain as quickly as possible to prevent permanent brain damage. In this information module, you will learn the correct sequence in the administration of rescue breathing and external chest compression. Resuscitation techniques learnt in this module is based on the International Guidelines 2000 which has simplified the procedure for the lay rescuer.
